KATHMANDU, Nov 14: The Nepal Bar Association (NBA) staged a sit-in at the main gate of the Supreme Court on Sunday. The agitating lawyers staged a sit-in at the Supreme Court premises from 10 AM to 11:30 AM on Sunday demanding the resignation of Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher JB Rana.
NBA decides to recall Judicial Council member Shrestha
Prior to the sit-in protest, NBA President Chandeshwor Shrestha said that it is mandatory for Chief Justice Rana to step down from his post. He alleged that Rana was bringing deviation in justice and ruining the reputation and integrity of the judiciary.
Police have arrested agitating lawyers from the sit-in protest. Although NBA staged a sit-in at the main gate of the Supreme Court, Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Jabra entered the Supreme Court through another gate.
