KATHMANDU, April 9: The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has once again increased fuel prices, citing ongoing fluctuations in the international market.
The revised rates came into effect from midnight, with prices of petrol, diesel, kerosene, cooking LPG, and aviation fuel all increased. Petrol has been hiked by Rs 17 per liter, while diesel and kerosene have gone up by Rs 25 per liter each.

Similarly, the price of cooking LPG has been increased by Rs 100 per cylinder, and domestic aviation fuel by Rs 6 per liter, according to NOC.
Under the new price list, petrol now costs Rs 219 per liter in the Kathmandu Valley, while diesel and kerosene are priced at Rs 207 per liter. The price of LPG has reached Rs 2,010 per cylinder, and domestic aviation fuel stands at Rs 257 per liter.
Despite the government providing a 50 percent discount on customs duty and infrastructure development tax, NOC said it was forced to raise prices as losses continue to mount. Even after the latest hike, the NOC estimates a fortnightly loss of around Rs 7.81 billion.
