KATHMAND, Dec 8: Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has shown interest to build “Gen-Z Martyrs’ Memorial during an inspection of the under-construction Federal Parliament Building inside Singha Durbar.
Minister Aryal visited the site accompanied by family members of Gen-Z movement martyrs, ministry officials, and secretariat representatives. The team reviewed the ground conditions and available space for installing the memorial dedicated to youths killed during the Gen-Z uprising.

On September 15, the Cabinet decided to establish a Gen-Z Memorial Park in honor of those who lost their lives in the movement. Later, on November 3, the Cabinet formally declared 42 Gen-Z youths and three police personnel as martyrs.
During the inspection, Minister Aryal reviewed the progress and technical details of the main assembly galleries being built for the House of Representatives and the National Assembly. He also received briefings from engineers overseeing the project.
Home Minister Aryal toured other administrative and technical blocks under construction within the complex, gathering updates on the overall physical progress. In discussions with engineers, he raised concerns about whether the project could be completed within the recently extended deadline.
