KATHMANDU, July 2: Kathmandu Dictrict Court has ordered social media personality Kumar Thapa, popularly known as "Nepali Bro," and his girlfriend Pratikshya Acharya to be held in judicial custody pending trial over the murder of Thapa's wife.
The Kathmandu District Court issued the order on Thursday, directing that both remain in custody until legal proceedings conclude.

Thapa is accused of killing his 42-year-old wife, Ishwori Bhujel, a subedar in the Nepal Army, during a domestic dispute at their home in Tarakeshwar Municipality-6 on May 22. Police said he admitted during questioning that he slit her throat with a sharp weapon.
Judge Mahendra Bahadur Karki ordered Thapa and Acharya into judicial custody, while two other defendants, Bikram Thapa Magar and Sujan Thapa, were released on bail of Rs 100,000 each.
Prosecutors allege the killing was premeditated. Police later named three additional suspects after finding evidence of their alleged involvement during the investigation.
Thapa, who is widely known on social media as "Nepali Bro," has drawn significant public attention following the murder allegations and the court's latest order.
