KATHMANDU, Aug 4: Home Minister Sudan Gurung has begun talks with the family of Rabindra Mehta, who died while undergoing treatment after being injured in the Kaptangunj incident in Sunsari.
The meeting is taking place at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj. Mehta was injured during the incident that occurred in Kaptanganj, Ward 3 of Dewanganj Rural Municipality, Sunsari, on the night of July 26. He died during treatment on Tuesday.

Following his death, family members refused to receive the body, insisting that the home minister personally visit the hospital and address their demands. Gurung subsequently arrived at the hospital for talks.
Earlier on Tuesday, Home Minister Gurung held separate meetings at the Ministry of Home Affairs with leaders of the Hindu and Muslim communities. According to the minister’s secretariat, the discussions focused on the recent tensions reported in various parts of the country, as well as maintaining peace, security and communal harmony.
