UDAYAPUR, Sept 20: A woman has died after being struck with a sharp weapon in Dandagaun, Chaudandigadhi Municipality-2, Udayapur. Police have detained her husband in connection with the incident.
According to police, Gandu Ram Rai, about 58, allegedly struck his wife, 45-year-old Bimala Rai, on the neck with a sickle during a domestic dispute after consuming alcohol.

Police took Bimala to the municipal hospital in Beltar for treatment. She died there at around 1:15 am, police said.
Gandu Ram went to the police post in Madibas after the incident and reported what had happened. Police then detained him and took him to the Area Police Office in Beltar. The incident remains under investigation.
