HoR members draw govt attention toward contemporary issues

At today's meeting of the House of Representatives, lawmakers drew the government's attention toward contemporary issues. They alleged severe errors in the publication of Grade 12 results and demanded an investigation into it.

KATHMANDU, June 28: At today's meeting of the House of Representatives, lawmakers drew the government's attention toward contemporary issues. They alleged severe errors in the publication of Grade 12 results and demanded an investigation into it. 



Gita Gurung of the Nepali Congress demanded that students' voices concerning the Grade 12 results be addressed. Pramila Gachchhadar from the same party urged the government to be serious toward agitation of the affected students. 


Indira Rana Magar of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) alerted the government to the death of a girl after being hit by a tripper at Aduwa Khola Bridge of Biratmod-3 in Jhapa district. She urged the administration to investigate that incident in which the victim's family received a threat from the 'perpetrators'.

Neeta Ghatami of the CPN-UML- stressed the need for strict legal provisions to evade incidents from reckless driving in the future, demanding appropriate relief to the victim's family. 


Shradhha Kunwar Chhetri said FIFA's decision to suspend All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) had disappointed the entire sports sector, players and football lovers, besmirching the country's image.


Gyan Bahadur Shahi of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party was of the view that increased fines for the violation of traffic rules would not contribute to minimizing the cases of road accidents. He urged the government to focus on the construction of quality infrastructure building. 


Dr Arjun Karki of the CPN-UML- urged for the continuity of the under-construction transmission line in Sankhuwasabha. Ambika Devi Sangroula from the same party called for the restoration of the roadway along the BP Highway damaged by the Roshi River. 


Balawati Sharma of the Nepali Communist Party called for promptly addressing the issues of landless squatters, adding that the numbers of provincial assembly and local levels should not be reduced.  


Prakash Singh Karki demanded proper management of wires of hydropower projects to avoid potential accidents.
