KATHMANDU, July 26: The foundation stone for a new building at Shree Maheshwar Secondary School in Bheemdatt Municipality-10, Kanchanpur, was jointly laid on Sunday by Basist Nandan, First Secretary at the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, and Nilam Lekhak Joshi, Deputy Chief of Bheemdatt Municipality.
The school building will be constructed with financial assistance of approximately Rs 19 million from the Government of India under the High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) scheme. The project will be implemented through Bheemdatt Municipality and is the 11th HICDP supported by India in Kanchanpur district.

Speaking at the ceremony, representatives of Bheemdatt Municipality and other stakeholders appreciated India’s continued development support and expressed confidence that the new infrastructure would improve the learning environment for students and teachers.
The Embassy of India said the project reflects the close partnership between Nepal and India and the Indian government’s continued support for Nepal’s development efforts, particularly in strengthening infrastructure in priority sectors.
