Industry Minister for revival of Hetauda textile industry

HETAUDA, May 23: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supply Gauri Kumari Yadav has said that necessary groundwork is being carried out to revive the long-defunct Hetauda textile industry.



During her inspection of the Hetauda Industrial Area today, she emphasized the need to re-establish the garment sector to strengthen the country’s economic development.


Minister Yadav said the government is committed to implementing policies aimed at revitalizing struggling industries, adding that budget allocations for the textile sector are planned in the upcoming fiscal year.

She highlighted that bringing closed industries back into operation would generate employment opportunities, and said the government is actively working in this direction.


The Hetauda Industrial Area, which houses 147 industries, was established on December 6, 1963, with financial assistance from the US government.


The industrial zone spans 3,228 ropani and includes industries such as food production, breweries, Asian Paints, and animal feed manufacturing.


During her visit, Sangita Kunwar, Head of the Hetauda Industrial Area Management Office, briefed the minister on the current status of the industries in the area.
