MAKAWANPUR, April 20: Nepali Congress (NC) President Gagan Kumar Thapa has described the report of the Karki Commission, formed to investigate the Gen-Z protests of September 8 and 9 as incomplete and biased.
Speaking at a Nepali Congress Bagmati Province-level election review programme organised by the party’s Central Committee in Hetauda, Thapa said the incidents in question require a factual, independent and impartial investigation.

Referring to the party’s internal review following its defeat in the March 5 elections, Thapa said any investigation into allegations of illegal asset accumulation or corruption by the new government must be conducted strictly in accordance with law, rules and due process.
He also cautioned against any form of prejudice in state action, stressing that the rule of law must be upheld not only by individuals but also by those in executive authority, including the Prime Minister.
Meanwhile, Nepali Congress General Secretary Pradeep Poudel said party members must assume new responsibilities and make effective use of digital technology to disseminate the party’s policies and principles to citizens across the country.
