KATHMANDU, April 11: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has begun planting colourful flowers in pots along roadsides in a bid to enhance the city’s beauty.

The initiative is being carried out under the flagship programme “My Wish, a Clean and Green City” by the Parks and Greenery Promotion Project.

According to project engineer Sarkardip Shrestha, begonias in shades of yellow, red and pink have been planted along the stretch in front of Singha Durbar.

KMC has installed large cement pots along roadsides to ensure regular planting and maintenance, including watering and care.

The project will be gradually expanded to inner city areas in the next phase, Shrestha said.
