KATHMANDU, May 5: Kulman Ghising, chairperson of the Ujyalo Nepal Party, has expressed confidence that his party will secure significant victories in the upcoming local elections.
Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, Ghising said the party has intensified its organizational expansion and election preparations, which he believes will translate into strong results across multiple local levels.

“We are moving forward with the goal of winning in many local units,” he said. “Our role in the election will be strong and influential.”
Ghising added that the party plans to contest the elections aggressively and position itself as a competitive alternative in local politics.
During the previous House of Representatives election, Ghising had similarly predicted major electoral success for his party. However, the Ujyalo Nepal Party failed to win any seats, while Ghising himself was defeated from Kathmandu-3.
He also said discussions are underway for possible electoral unity with newer political forces, including the Shram Sanskriti Party led by Harka Sampang, ahead of the upcoming polls.
