KATHMANDU, May 5: Nepal posted a target of 257 runs against Oman in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 match after a crucial century stand for the second wicket between Aasif Sheikh and Arjun Kumal.
Electing to bat first at TU International Cricket Ground, Nepal were bowled out for 256 runs with one ball remaining in their innings.
After losing opener Binod Bhandari for a duck, Aasif and Arjun steadied the innings with a 123-run partnership for the second wicket. Aasif fell just short of a century, scoring 94, while Arjun made 48.

Aarif Sheikh added quick runs with an aggressive knock of 43 off 24 balls.
Nepal came under pressure after captain Rohit Paudel was dismissed for 9, but a 32-run partnership between vice-captain Dipendra Singh Airee (33) and Gulshan Jha (17) provided some stability.
Karan KC was out for a duck, while Nandan Yadav (2) and Sandeep Lamichhane (1) failed to add significant runs.
For Oman, Nadeem Khan took three wickets, while Ayaan Khan and Jatinder Singh claimed one each.
In the ongoing tri-series involving Nepal, Oman and the UAE, both Nepal and the UAE have won two matches each. Nepal secured both victories against the UAE, while the UAE defeated Oman in both encounters. Oman had earlier beaten Nepal in their opening match.
This match between Nepal and Oman is the final game of the series.
Oman sit third in the standings with 31 points, while Nepal are seventh with 16 points. The UAE are at the bottom of the table with 14 points.
