NC denounces rumors of alliance in Jhapa–5 as false and fabricated

KATHMANDU, Feb 4: Nepali Congress (NC) Jhapa–5 Constituency Committee has clarified that there have been no discussions about allying with any other party and urged the public not to follow misleading and fabricated rumors.



In a statement released Wednesday, Regional Chair Dhundhiraj Bhandari said the party has noted attempts by some individuals to spread false news on social media to confuse workers and voters during the election period.

“The party’s central president, Gagan Kumar Thapa, has already clarified that no alliance with any other party will take place ahead of the election. NC remains committed to its stance. We urge well-wishers and workers not to be misled by rumors or false information,” the statement read.


The statement also called on all party workers to focus on election activities to ensure the overwhelming victory of the party’s candidate, Mandhara Chimoriya Paudyal, in the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5, 2026.


The party further urged voters to cast their ballots for the NC election symbol, the tree, and not to pay attention to misleading reports.
