KATHMANDU, April 17: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index increased slightly on Friday, rising by 5.36 points to close at 2,838.40 points.
According to NEPSE data, sub-indices of hotels and tourism, hydropower, manufacturing and processing, other, and trading groups all posted gains, contributing to the overall market uptick.

A total of 108 listed companies saw their share prices increase during the trading session, while five companies hit the positive circuit limit. The companies that hit the positive circuit were Surya Kunda Hydroelectric, Hotel Forest Inn, Palpa Cement, Shikhar Power Development, and Ridge Line Energy.
The total market turnover stood at Rs 7.46 billion. National Hydro Power Company recorded the highest turnover of Rs 668.6 million, followed by Solu Hydropower with Rs 372.6 million. Ridi Power Company also saw significant trading activity.
On the downside, Asian Hydropower witnessed the highest decline, falling by 4.54 percent during the session.
