One killed in tipper-hit in Kathmandu

The tipper driven by Bikash Thapa Magar from Gorkha, collided with a scooter bearing the government number plate Pra 3-001 Ba 945, seriously injuring the scooter rider, Koirala. He died while undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital.

KATHMANDU, March 3: A person died after the scooter he was riding was hit by a garbage-carrying tipper in New Baneshwar, Kathmandu today.



Deputy Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, the spokesperson of Kathmandu Police, said that Badri Koirala, 48, originally from Inaruwa, Sunsari, and currently residing in Bhaktapur, died when the tipper with registration number Ba 2 Ka 3229 hit his scooter near the Civil Service Hospital, Minbhawan, Kathmandu Metropolitan City–31.

Police have taken the tipper driver under control for investigation. 


Meanwhile, 15 people have died in separate road accidents that occurred in different parts of the country on Monday.


According to the Central Police News Room, they died in traffic accidents that occurred in Sarlahi, Sunsari, Bara, Makawanpur, Bhaktapur, Chitwan, Dhading, Kaski, Banke, Rukum East, Rupandehi and Kanchanpur.
