KATHMANDU, Jan 11: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has updated its Proportional Representation (PR) candidate list at the Election Commission, removing 17 candidates aligned with Kulman Ghising’s Ujyalo Nepal Party faction.
The move comes after Ghising, Ujyalo Nepal Party chairman, formally split from RSP on Saturday to rejoin his own party as its chairman.

According to the updated list submitted to the Election Commission this morning, all proportional candidates from the Kulman faction were removed except Rima Bishwakarma, who retains the top spot in the Dalit cluster.
A RSP source said, “Rima remains because she has stayed with RSP. After the previous agreement with Ujyalo Nepal was broken, the names of 17 proportional candidates were removed.”
The split between RSP and Ujyalo Nepal followed disputes over leadership positions, proportional representation seats, and broader organizational issues, with both parties blaming each other for overstepping and failing to acknowledge each other’s contributions.
With the removal of the 17 Kulman loyalists, RSP’s updated proportional candidate list now includes 110 candidates representing both RSP and its allied factions.
