Three Indian nationals arrested at TIA with over 11 kg of marijuana

Three Indian nationals have been arrested from the arrival tunnel gate of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) with approximately 11.270 kilograms of illegal marijuana.

KATHMANDU, Feb 20: Three Indian nationals have been arrested from the arrival tunnel gate of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) with approximately 11.270 kilograms of illegal marijuana.

Those arrested are 43-year-old Sameena Akhtar Baig Mirza, 24-year-old Mohammad Junaid, and 44-year-old Afsana Amir Hussain Sheikh. According to Central Police Spokesperson DIG Abhi Nayaran Kafle, a joint team from the Airport Security Office and the Narcotics Control Bureau recovered approximately 3.870 kilograms of marijuana from Mohammad Junaid and Sameena Akhtar Baig Mirza, and about 7.400 kilograms from Afsana Amir Hussain Sheikh. All three have been sent to the Narcotics Control Bureau for further investigation and action.
