KATHMANDU, April 21: US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Paul Kapur held a courtesy meeting with Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal on Tuesday.
The meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Singha Durbar, where discussions focused on strengthening Nepal–US bilateral relations with an emphasis on trade and investment, according to the ministry.

Earlier on Monday, Kapur had met Rabi Lamichhane, chairperson of the Rastriya Swatantra Party. On the same day, he also held discussions with industry leaders on expanding US business opportunities in Nepal’s information technology sector.
The discussions covered areas such as digital infrastructure, the use of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and ways to share US technological expertise.
Kapur, who arrived in Nepal on Monday for a three-day visit, is scheduled to return to the United States on Wednesday.
