RAUTAHAT, Feb 16: A woman has been brutally murdered in Rautahat.
The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Aarti Devi Yadav, wife of Mahanth Yadav of Fatuwa Bijaypur Municipality-6. She is suspected to have been brutally killed inside her own bedroom after her throat was slashed with a sharp weapon. Her husband, Mahanth Yadav, is absconding.

After the house remained unopened until late Sunday, a team from the Area Police Office Santpur Dostiya reached the spot at the request of locals and opened the door. Aarti was found lying on her bed with her throat slit in a gruesome manner, said DSP Bishnu Pradeep Basyal, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Rautahat.
According to preliminary police investigations, Aarti’s husband Mahanth Ray Yadav is suspected of committing the murder and fleeing the scene. Police said an intensive search is underway to locate him.
Aarti’s body has been kept at Provincial Hospital Gaur for post-mortem examination, DSP Basyal said.
