KATHMANDU, Feb 5: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday surged 27.19 points to close at 2,708.70 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,681.50 points and gained 13 points in the first over one hour. The index remained almost stable for the next one hour, before going to an upward move, achieving overall 1.01 percent in the intraday transaction.
Nepse stretches winning run with record weekly turnover
Only trading groups shed 18.51 points. Among 12 gainers, non-life insurance and life insurance surged by 218.92 points and 143.85 points, respectively.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies increased 4.47 points. The daily turnover inclined to Rs 11.58 billion from Rs 7.49 billion.
Among the individual companies, 201 were gainers while 55 were recorded as losers. Union Hydropower Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 587.76 million.
Three companies including Kalinchowk Darshan Limited, Super Mai Hydropower Limited and Modi Energy Limited were the highest gainers. Super Madi Hydropower Limited with a decline of 9.98 percent, was recorded as the highest loser.
