KATHMANDU, Jan 25: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Sunday jumped by a whopping 57.55 points to close at 2,772.17 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,714.61 points and gradually escalated throughout the trading hours. Overall, the market gained 2.12 percent.
Nepse stretches winning run with record weekly turnover
All the sectors gained in their indices. Manufacturing and processing surged by the largest of 275.29 points. Life insurance added 268.68 points, hotels and tourism added 247.25 points and non-life insurance added 220.75 points.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies increased by a notable 8.05 points. The daily turnover surged to Rs 13.78 billion from Rs 9.07 billion.
Among the individual companies, 240 were gainers while 19 were recorded as losers. Ankhu Khola Jalvidhyut Company had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 435.93 million.
Eight companies including SY Panel Nepal Limited, Shreenagar Agritech Industries Limited, Nepal Micro Insurance Company, Bandipur Cablecar and Tourism, Him Star Urja Company, Mabilung Energy, Reliance Finance and Ankhu Khola Jalvidhyut Company witnessed positive circuit breaker. Everest Bank Limited Debenture had the highest fall 5.80 percent.
