Adverse weather disrupts flights, Air India aircraft from Delhi diverted

According to the TIA, poor weather forced several aircraft to remain on hold for some time. An Air India flight arriving from Delhi had to be diverted due to the conditions.

KATHMANDU, Jan 28: Adverse weather conditions have affected both domestic and international flight operations, disrupting landings at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

According to the TIA, poor weather forced several aircraft to remain on hold for some time. An Air India flight arriving from Delhi had to be diverted due to the conditions.


According to TIA officials, Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) are applied when visibility drops below 5,000 metres, while large aircraft require visibility of more than 2,200 metres for landing.
