The department said it is natural to encounter technical challenges, slower system performance and temporary delays in passport issuance during the initial phase of implementing and going live with such a large-scale information technology system. It added that its technical team, employees and experts from the company that developed the system are on 24-hour standby, continuously monitoring, testing and improving the system to address any issues.
The DoP expressed confidence that it is fully capable of resolving both short-term and long-term issues related to the new system.
The department urged only those who urgently need a passport to apply during the initial phase of the system's implementation, saying this would help ensure the system becomes more stable and operates more efficiently.
It also requested the public to rely only on information and updates regarding passport services published through the official channels of the DoP and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The DoP said it remains committed to providing fast, efficient and reliable passport services to Nepali citizens.
