KATHMANDU, Feb 18: Senior leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Balen Shah, has said that political bias and discrimination will end in future development works.

Addressing the Pariwartan Udgosh (Call for Change) rally in Dhangadhi on Wednesday, Shah said the RSP will work for all Nepalis, not just supporters of a particular party.

He accused past political parties of neglecting development in areas where they lacked electoral support. “Earlier, there was a mindset of not building roads in areas without votes,” he said. “But when RSP comes to power, it will build roads used by the Nepali Congress, the CPN-UML, and even the Maoists.”

Shah said infrastructure built by the RSP would benefit supporters of all parties and the general public alike. “We will build common roads for all Nepalis, without any political discrimination,” he added.

Speaking about long-delayed projects, he said it was unacceptable for roads meant to be completed in two years to remain unfinished for two decades. “We will establish a system where work is completed within one and a half years,” he said.

He also stated that the RSP has come not only to seek votes but to take responsibility, urging citizens to share lists of work that need to be done.

Shah reaffirmed the party’s commitment to the development and prosperity of Sudurpaschim, regardless of whether people vote for the RSP or not. He also reiterated pledges to treat education and health as public services rather than businesses, and to ensure access to treatment even for those who cannot afford it.
