KATHMANDU, June 13: Nepal and United Kingdom have vowed to work to strengthen the trade and investment relationship between two countries in line with Nepal’s ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’.

Issuing a joint communiqué by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal and Department of Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs marking the visit of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to the United Kingdom, the two countries agreed on the important contribution the UK makes to supporting Nepal’s economic development as the country’s largest bilateral donor. Citing that the Nepal and United Kingdom are long-time partners that have enjoyed diplomatic relations for over 200 years, by far the longest formal relationship Nepal has with any country, the UK has acknowledged Nepal’s efforts to graduate from least developed country status at an early date and achieve the sustainable development goals by 2030.
