KATHMANDU, July 8: At least 10 people were injured in a collision between a Scorpio and a Bolero at Binayi Triveni rural municipality in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East).
The Scorpio (Lu Pr 01-001 Cha 0948) en route to Narayanghat and pick-up Bolero (Ba Pr 03-001 Cha 1474) en route to Butwal collided with each other at Gumbachowk of Binayi Triveni-1 on the East-West Highway today.
3 killed, 24 injured in bus-truck collision
Deputy Superintendent of Police Madhu Nepal, information officer at the District Police Office, Nawalpur, said the injured are undergoing treatment at Madhyabindu Provincial Hospital.
According to him, only the driver was in the pickup bolero. The driver, Om Narayan Mahato, 45, sustained minor injuries. The other injured included nine people on board the Scorpio.
The injured have been identified as 31-year-old Scorpio driver Resham Bahadur Saru Magar, 14-year-old Kiran Phal Magar, 36-year-old Danumaya Ale, 55-year-old Sita Shrestha, 48-year-old Bishnu Bahadur Shrestha, 84-year-old Rupa Maya Shrestha, 36-year-old Hari Bahadur Lamichhane, 57-year-old Yanisara Lamichhane and 52-year-old Kul Bahadur Kumal.
Seven of the injured are undergoing treatment at Madhyabindu Provincial Hospital, Danda, while Yanisra Lamichhane and Kul Bahadur Kumal have been sent to Chitwan Medical College in Bharatpur for further treatment.
