Balen leads Oli by over 30,000 votes in Jhapa-5

According to the vote count update as of 11 AM, Shah has secured 42,543 votes out of a total of 67,855 votes counted so far.

KATHMANDU, March 7: Balendra Shah (Balen), candidate of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has taken a commanding lead over KP Sharma Oli, chair of CPN-UML, in Jhapa-5.



According to the vote count update as of 11 AM, Shah has secured 42,543 votes out of a total of 67,855 votes counted so far.

Oli is trailing with 11,427 votes. Nepali Congress candidate Mandhara Chimariya has received 1,202 votes, while Nepali Communist Party candidate Ranjit Tamang has secured 996 votes.


Similarly, Shram Sanskriti Party candidate Samir Tamang has received 7,104 votes.
