Construction of Thankot-Chapagaun 132 KV underground transmission line for Chobhar substation begins

KATHMANDU, March 23: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) is going to construct the Thankot-Chapagaun 132 KV transmission line.



The NEA is going to connect the Thankot-Chapagaun 132 kV line (line in line out) to the substation construction site through an underground transmission line for the Chobhar substation to be built under the Valley Transmission Capacity Strengthening Project.

For this, land in Kirtipur-6 Chobhar is going to be acquired. The district administration office is about to acquire private land owned by five people by publishing the information.


The land to be acquired is two ropanis four annas three paisa. Houses, terraces, crops and other trees and structures on the said land are also going to be acquired. The landowners concerned have been requested to submit their applications within 15 days.


The NEA is now developing a system to meet the increased electricity demand in the Kathmandu Valley that is estimated to reach 3,000 MW by 2050. NEA is developing its overall system to meet this demand.
