Daily turnover inclines to Rs 8.69 billion as NEPSE remains almost stable

KATHMANDU, Feb 11: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Wednesday slid marginally by 0.04 points to close at 2,662.09 points.



The secondary market opened at 2,662.14 points and initially spiked up to the day’s high at 2,690.52 points in the first five minutes. The index, however, nosedived to as low as 2,659.08 points in the middle of the trading time. The market remained almost stable with nominal fluctuations for the next over one hour. The index came to the day’s low at 2,657.19 points in the last two minutes, while it recovered around five points in the remaining period before the market closed for the day.

As hydropower jumped by the largest of 16.75 points, a total of five groups were registered in the gainers' list.  Out of the eight losers, hotels and tourism plunged 47.07 points, the largest of all.  


The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, increased 0.81 points. The daily turnover increased marginally to Rs 8.69 billion from Rs 8.61 billion. 


Among the individual companies, 113 were gainers while 133 were recorded as losers. Ridi Power Company Limited had the largest turnover of its shares, worth Rs 654.76 million.


Super Mai Hydropower Limited dropped by the highest of 6.39 percent. Ridi Power Company Limited increased by the highest of 9.67 percent.
