KATHMANDU, Dec 31: Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has emphasized that the government is moving forward with a clear focus on strengthening good governance and improving service delivery.
Upon his arrival in Biratnagar on Tuesday, Minister Aryal stated that these goals are central to the current administration’s agenda. He was in Morang ahead of a one-day province-level security workshop in Koshi Province. During a site visit to the Nepal-India Integrated Customs Checkpost in Budhnagar, operational since 2020, Aryal reiterated the government’s commitment to enhancing governance and public service.
Where there is government, there is corruption!
The minister highlighted that another key priority for the government is to ensure peace and security while completing elections on the scheduled dates. “Without guaranteed peace and security, no economic activity can function safely,” Aryal said.
Aryal also addressed the demand for a dedicated security force at the integrated checkpost, saying the government is reviewing the request in consultation with relevant ministries and offices.
Earlier, the minister inspected the Morang District Administration Office building, which had been damaged during the Gen Z protests but has now been restored and reopened for public services. Chief District Officer Yubaraj Kattel briefed him on the damages and said services are being resumed.
Aryal also visited the quarantine center constructed by the Nepali Army during the COVID-19 pandemic, which is currently vacant and under army supervision.
