KATHMANDU, Feb 11: The Election Commission (EC) is launching a nationwide voter education campaign to ensure the success of the upcoming House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5.
The voter education drive will run from February 15 to March 1 to make the voting process easier. It would also help reduce the number of invalid votes.
Polls 18 days away: Voter education program until March 1
Every ward will have a volunteer for voter education. There are 6,743 wards in 753 local levels across the country. The volunteers reach every household and make people aware of the role of voting.
Sample ballot papers are used to educate the voters, according to the spokesperson at EC, Narayan Prasad Bhattarai. Even a contact person will be in place at each local level for monitoring the voter education.
