KATHMANDU, March 6: Vote counting has begun in both constituencies of Surkhet in the House of Representatives (HoR) election.
In Surkhet-1, Hridayaram Thani Khadka of the Nepali Congress (NC) has taken the lead with 798 votes out of 1,987 counted so far.
UML Leads, NC Must Act
Similarly, Tek Bahadur Singh of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has secured 545 votes, while Dhruva Kumar Shahi of the CPN-UML has received 427 votes. Jeet Bahadur Rana of the Nepali Communist Party (NCP) has secured 77 votes, according to Returning Officer Kailash Prasad Bhattarai.
Meanwhile, in Surkhet-2, Kulmani Devkota of the CPN-UML is leading with 316 votes out of 781 counted so far.
Narayan Kumar Koirala of the NC has secured 218 votes, Ramesh Kumar Sapkota of the RSP has received 127 votes, and Jhak Bahadur Malla of the NCP has secured 107 votes, according to Chief Returning Officer Deepak Dhakal.
