KATHMANDU, March 6: Nepali Congress (NC) Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma has said the preliminary results of the House of Representatives (HoR) election were not unexpected, accepting the party’s electoral setback.
Taking to social media platform X on Friday morning, Sharma said the party accepts the voters’ verdict. Sharma, who also served as the party’s election commander, said the decision of the electorate must be respected.

“Voters’ verdict is acceptable. Just as we welcomed the Maoists who rose through the ‘bullet’ with patience, we welcome the RSP emerging through the ‘ballot’. Given the signals seen in the 2022 election, this is not unexpected,” he wrote.
He also said high expectations should not turn into another disappointment, adding that the party would both cooperate and remain vigilant on the country’s key issues.
