KATHMANDU, May 24: Nepal women's national volleyball team will take on Maldives women's national volleyball team in their final group-stage match of the CAVA Women's Volleyball Championship on Sunday in Kathmandu.
Nepal kept their semifinal hopes alive after defeating Kyrgyzstan women's national volleyball team in straight sets on Saturday at the National Sports Council Covered Hall in Tripureshwor. The hosts registered a 3-0 victory to secure their first win of the tournament after losing 3-2 to India women's national volleyball team in the opening match on Friday.
With four points from two matches, Nepal moved to second place in Group A, while Kyrgyzstan have three points from two games. Nepal will qualify for the semifinals if they beat Maldives. Kyrgyzstan will face India on Monday.

The tournament features eight teams divided into two groups. Group A consists of Nepal, India, Kyrgyzstan and Maldives, while Group B includes Sri Lanka women's national volleyball team, Iran women's national volleyball team, Bangladesh women's national volleyball team and Kazakhstan women's national volleyball team.
Three matches are scheduled for Sunday. Iran will face Sri Lanka at 12 pm, Kazakhstan will play Bangladesh at 2:30 pm, and Nepal will meet Maldives at 5 pm.
