KATHMANDU, Dec 2: A man was killed and two others injured after an electric car lost control and struck a traffic officer and pedestrians at Kesharmahal on Tuesday.
The injured include Traffic Constable Pashuram Thakur, who serves at the Darbarmarg traffic post, and 66-year-old driver Suresh Raj Kalika of Kathmandu Metropolitan City–16.
Police said the deceased was a male, approximately 30–35 years old, whose identity has not yet been confirmed.

SP Naresh Raj Subedi of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office at Ramshah Path told Republica that the traffic officer sustained injuries to both legs and his chest and is in critical condition. The deceased was taken to a hospital unresponsive.
“The out-of-control car first smashed the traffic divider, then struck two people, and finally collided with the wall of the Garden of Dreams,” SP Subedi said.
All the injured were initially admitted to the National Trauma Center, with the traffic officer later referred to the Police Hospital in Maharajgunj for further treatment.
According to police, the accident occurred when a Neta EV (Bagmati Province No. 01–030 Ch 2348), traveling from the south gate toward Kesharmahal, went out of control.
