KATHMANDU, May 19: The Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHC) of the Federal Parliament has unanimously endorsed the nomination of Supreme Court (SC) Justice Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma for the post of Chief Justice (CJ).
At a meeting held on Tuesday, the PHC approved Sharma’s name immediately after completing the hearing process, deeming him suitable for the position.

PHC Chairperson Bodh Narayan Shrestha formally announced that the nomination of the proposed Chief Justice was endorsed unanimously.
The decision was made following deliberations on lawmakers’ questions and the action plan presented by Sharma during the hearing.
During the session held earlier on Tuesday, Sharma responded to queries raised by members of parliament and clarified 16 complaints filed against him.
