This is not his first brush with the law. On December 7, 2018, the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority filed a corruption case at the Special Court against Pandey and 20 others, citing irregularities in the canal construction of the Sikta Irrigation Project—a national pride project.
At the time, Pandey was released after posting a bail of Rs 40 million.
