KATHMANDU, March 8: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is maintaining a strong lead in the ongoing vote counting under the proportional representation (PR) system for the House of Representatives election, according to the latest results released by election authorities.
A total of 2,481,910 votes have been counted nationwide so far. The Rastriya Swatantra Party is leading with 1,256,710 votes, accounting for 50.66 percent of the total votes counted.

The Nepali Congress is in second position with 425,245 votes, which equals 17.13 percent of the total count, while the CPN-UML is in third position with 337,877 votes, or 13.61 percent.
Other parties have also secured portions of the PR vote share. The Nepali Communist Party has received 165,786 votes (6.68 percent), followed by the Rastriya Prajatantra Party with 90,983 votes (3.67 percent). The Shram Sanskriti Party secured 43,242 votes (1.74 percent), while the Rastriya Pariwartan Party received 32,217 votes (1.30 percent) as the counting process continues.
