KATHMANDU, May 21: Saroj Kumar Yadav has been unanimously reappointed as the parliamentary party leader of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal in Madhesh Province.
A joint meeting of the merged JSP Nepal and Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP) Nepal held on Thursday decided to retain Yadav as the parliamentary party leader.

Yadav, a former chief minister, had also been serving as the parliamentary party leader earlier. However, after the merger, another claimant, LSP leader Jitendra Sonal, had also staked a claim to the post, delaying consensus in an earlier meeting.
The merged JSP now holds 26 seats in Madhesh Province, making it the largest party in the provincial assembly. CPN-UML follows with 24 seats, while the Nepali Congress has 22 seats.
The province is currently led by Chief Minister Krishna Prasad Yadav of the Nepali Congress. With the withdrawal of support by the Janamat Party led by CK Raut, the chief minister is scheduled to seek a vote of confidence on Friday.
