KATHMANDU, Feb 15: Under the ICC T20 World Cup, Nepal set a target of 134 runs for two-time champions West Indies in their third match of the tournament.
Batting first after losing the toss at Wankhede Stadium, Nepal recovered from a poor start to post 133 runs for the loss of eight wickets, riding on a half-century partnership between vice-captain Dipendra Singh Airee and Sompal Kami.

Dipendra top-scored for Nepal with 58 runs off 47 balls, hitting three fours and three sixes. He completed his half-century in the 19th over, smashing a six off Shamar Joseph, reaching the milestone in 44 balls with three fours and two sixes.
Dipendra became the second Nepali batter to score a half-century in a T20 World Cup. Earlier, Subash Khakurel had scored a half-century against Afghanistan in the 2014 edition.
Playing his first match of this World Cup, Sompal Kami remained unbeaten on 26 runs off 15 balls, including four boundaries. The duo added 54 runs for the seventh wicket — Nepal’s highest partnership of the innings. Dipendra had earlier shared a 27-run stand for the sixth wicket with Gulshan Jha. These two partnerships helped Nepal post a competitive total.
Elsewhere, Lokesh Bam scored 13 off 15 balls, while opener Aasif Sheikh and Gulshan Jha added 11 runs each. The rest of the batters failed to reach double figures as Nepal struggled early in the innings.
