SINDHULI, Aug 3: Three people, including the driver, have gone missing after a car plunged into the Sunkoshi River following a collision with a bus on the Mid-Hill Highway near Nawalpur in Fikkal Rural Municipality–2, Sindhuli.
The accident occurred at around 11:45 am when a bus (Ba.Pr.08-001 Kha 0144) travelling from Kathmandu to Okhaldhunga collided with a car belonging to the Department of Roads’ Mechanical Office, Mulkot, which was travelling from Khotang towards Khurkot. The impact sent the car about 50 feet down into the river.
The missing are identified as car driver Dil Kumar Lama, around 39, of Sindhupalchok; excavator operator Ganesh Thapa, around 27–28, of Golanjor Rural Municipality–1, Sindhuli; and an unidentified helper.

Police said search and rescue operations are underway to locate the missing persons and recover the submerged vehicle.
The bus and its driver have been taken into custody and kept at the Khangsang Police Post for further investigation.
