KATHMANDU, Jan 8: Parsa police have seized a large quantity of cannabis and arrested two men in a roadside operation.
Acting on a tip-off, police stopped and searched two men carrying black bags near Gardaul Chowk, Bindabasini Rural Municipality–2 on the Pokhariya–Birgunj road Thursday morning. Officers discovered cannabis hidden beneath ghee in 10-liter water gallons.

The suspects, 20-year-old Rayas Ali from Murli, Birgunj Metropolitan City–15 and 55-year-old Munilal Patel from Jagatpur, Pokhariya Municipality–8, were found with 10.6 kg and 11.4 kg of cannabis, respectively. Police also seized cash and a keypad mobile from the duo.
The two have been taken into custody for further investigation, the Parsa District Police Office confirmed.
