KATHMANDU, March 23: Vianet Communications has introduced new WiFi 6 internet packages in Nepal, offering improved speed, wider coverage, and lower latency to meet growing demand from connected households.
According to the company, the upgraded service is designed to support multiple high-bandwidth activities simultaneously, including streaming, online classes, remote work, and gaming. The WiFi 6 technology is expected to deliver up to four times better performance compared to previous systems, along with stronger signal reach across homes.
Vianet is offering packages with speeds ranging from 250 Mbps to 600 Mbps. The annual 250 Mbps plan has been priced at Rs 13,800 (inclusive of VAT), with an additional one-month subscription provided free under the yearly package.

Existing users can upgrade to the WiFi 6 Optical Network Unit (ONU) at a cost starting from Rs 500, the company said.
To address connectivity issues in larger homes or areas with weak signals, Vianet has also introduced a WiFi 6 Mesh Router, priced at Rs 3,500 (inclusive of VAT). The mesh system is designed to provide more consistent coverage by distributing the signal evenly across different rooms.
The company stated that the new packages aim to improve overall user experience by ensuring stable and uninterrupted internet access throughout households.
