RAUTAHAT, Feb 21: The District Administration Office (DAO), Rautahat, has imposed a curfew in parts of the district following clashes between two communities triggered by a dispute over wedding music.
The incident occurred in Sapgadha, Ward No. 6 of Gaur Municipality, where members of one community allegedly obstructed a wedding procession (janati) playing music, leading to tensions that later escalated into violent clashes.

According to Chief District Officer Dinesh Sagar Bhusal, representatives from both communities had reached a six-point agreement during a meeting at the DAO on Friday evening in an effort to defuse the situation. However, the dispute resurfaced on Saturday morning, resulting in renewed clashes.
At least six people were injured in the incident. Two police personnel were also injured while attempting to bring the situation under control.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Bishnu Pradip Basyal said protesters vandalized a vehicle bearing an Indian number plate and 12 motorcycles during the unrest.
Authorities have enforced the curfew to prevent further escalation and to maintain law and order in the area.
