The District Administration Office, Kathmandu, and the Kathmandu Metropolitan City have already issued public notices, asking those in such settlements to leave before 7:00 pm on Friday.

The writ has sought the court’s intervention in the eviction process until landless squatters in these areas—whether along riverbanks in the Kathmandu Valley or elsewhere—are properly identified, verified, and provided with alternative arrangements.
