Carlsberg strengthens its presence in South Asia

Carlsberg now owns 100 percent of the business in India through Carlsberg India Pvt. Ltd. (CIPL), and 99.94 percent of the business in Nepal via its shareholding in Gorkha Brewery Private Limited (GBPL).

KATHMANDU, Nov 30: Carlsberg completed the acquisition of the remaining 33.33 percent shareholding in Carlsberg South Asia Pte Ltd (CSAPL) from CSAPL (Singapore) Holdings Pte Ltd. 



According to a press statement released by the company, with this acquisition, Carlsberg now owns 100 percent of the business in India through Carlsberg India Pvt. Ltd. (CIPL), and 99.94 percent of the business in Nepal via its shareholding in Gorkha Brewery Private Limited (GBPL).

The statement reads, “The deal marks a significant step for Carlsberg in strengthening its presence in the South Asian market, consolidating its ownership in both India and Nepal. The acquisition follows an earlier media statement on August 2, 2024, outlining Carlsberg's plans to fully integrate its operations in the region.”
