KATHMANDU, Dec 23 : Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chandra Kuber Khapung has reacted sarcastically on social media after the probe commission lifted the foreign travel ban imposed on him in connection with the September 23–24 incidents during the Gen Z protests.
Soon after receiving the commission’s letter on Tuesday, allowing him to travel abroad, Khapung shared a photo of the document on social media and quipped that he was now ready to go anywhere. Writing on Facebook, he remarked, “Alright then—if there’s any invitation, do let me know!”

The commission led by Gauri Bahadur Karki on Tuesday decided to lift the restrictions on foreign travel and movement outside the Kathmandu Valley imposed on Khapung, former Home Secretary Gokarna Mani Duwadi and former Chief District Officer of Kathmandu Chhabilal Rijal, citing the completion of the investigation process.
Having faced travel restrictions for an extended period, Khapung expressed his reaction in a distinctly sarcastic tone as soon as the ban was lifted.
