KATHMANDU, Dec 2: Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has urged Gen Z youths not to internalise or echo false and fabricated narratives, nor to project such misconceptions onto the current civilian government.

Addressing Gen Z youths in Dhangadhi on Tuesday, Minister Aryal said the government—formed with strong support from young voters—was built on the promise of good governance and remains committed to meeting their expectations while addressing the country’s pressing challenges.

Cautioning young people against adopting misleading narratives spread by opposing groups, Aryal said, “Regarding the incident of Bhadra 23, the police administration, the judiciary, and the high-level investigation commission formed by the government are all working within their respective jurisdictions. There is no reason to lose hope or conclude that nothing has happened, or that Gen Z has been denied justice. We are working for justice, good governance, and an end to corruption.”

He added that the government is taking necessary decisions to honour the youths who lost their lives during the Gen Z movement, support their dependent families, and assist those injured. The government has already declared a Gen Z Martyrs’ Day, he noted, and work has begun on establishing a Martyrs’ Garden and installing memorial statues.

During the interaction, Aryal told the gathering that those who have not committed any wrongdoing should not live in fear. Instead, they should support law enforcement by helping identify false claims or instances where innocent individuals may have been dragged into legal complications.

After listening to the concerns and demands of the youths, the Minister reiterated that the government would not discriminate against any youth group. He emphasised that the police administration would proceed with cases strictly on the basis of facts and evidence, and no action would be taken without proper justification.
