CHITWAN, July 1: Jungle safari services inside Chitwan National Park will be suspended from Wednesday because of monsoon related safety risks.
Park authorities said heavy rain increases the likelihood of flash floods, fallen trees, and damaged forest tracks, making safari operations unsafe for visitors.
Information Officer Avinash Thapa Magar said the suspension will remain in effect until further notice.

He said the monsoon is also an important breeding season for wildlife and birds. At the same time, unpaved forest roads become difficult to navigate, streams inside the park can swell suddenly, and fallen trees often block access routes.
The park has followed the same practice every year during the rainy season. Safari operations inside the national park typically resume around the time of the Dashain festival, depending on weather conditions.
While jeep safaris inside the national park have been halted, safari activities in surrounding community forests will continue, Thapa Magar said.
Commercial jeep safaris normally enter the park from areas including Sauraha, Kasara, Meghauli, Madi, and several locations in Nawalparasi District.
Jungle safaris are among the park's main tourist attractions, offering visitors opportunities to observe forests and wildlife, including endangered species, from specially operated jeeps.
